The Baked Studio was established in 2021 by North East Cake Artist, Alexandra Falconer. With a passion for cake art, Alexandra decided to launch an online Baking Studio, which supplies other professionals with high-quality artistic products.

Meet Alexandra
In her younger years, Alexandra was always creative minded and had a passion for Arts & Crafts, particularly drawing and sewing. As a child she won competitions and had work featured in local newspapers. She would spend lots of her childhood in Craft and Haberdashery shops buying little things to make and do.
However, after leaving school and college she went on to study a Business Degree and ended up working in Employer Training and then Supply Chain Management for nearly 20 years in total. During this time she bought a house, got married and had two little girls and had no time to spend doing the creative things she once used to love.
Fast forward to March 2020 and the infamous Covid Lockdown descended upon us. Alexandra’s youngest little girl was due to turn one in April and she received a message from her usual cake maker, to say her birthday cake was understandably cancelled. With the thought of her little girl spending her first birthday with no family or friends and having no cake, Alexandra decided that she had one month to teach herself how to bake and decorate a birthday cake.
Thank goodness for Amazon and YouTube! Alexandra was able to order all the equipment she needed and watch numerous online tutorials. After a lot of online learning, practice and sleepless nights the birthday cake was a success!! Three weeks later she had to make another birthday cake for her oldest little girl, who turned five. Her artistic streak was now firmly back!
After posting photos of all of the cakes she had made on Instagram and Facebook, she was inundated with messages from friends asking them to make cakes. Within three months she had a fully registered new business, lots of customers and was fully booked for cakes for the rest of 2020!
At the end of 2020, and using her business knowledge and skills, Alexandra started thinking of ideas to develop her business. In 2021, Alexandra decided to set up an online store aka ‘Baking Studio’ which she started to sell artistic baking products. She chose Amazon as the platform to do so as she knew how invaluable Amazon Prime Delivery could be to a baker.
Initially hand making a lot of the products herself, Alexandra found that this was not sustainable. So, using her supply chain knowledge, she began to search for suppliers who could help to grow the business. Currently, The Baked Studio has suppliers and uses manufactures from all across the world.
Alexandra recruited staff and grew the business whilst still working in her 9-5 job. However, in 2023 The Baked Studio (after a lot of hard work, sweat and tears), expanded into the EU and Alexandra left her job. She now solely works managing her business and, most importantly, making sure her girls get the best birthday cakes each year!
